Fuel filter question

Just wondering what fuel filter most of you guys use. I just got a 99 VMax and figured it wouldn't hurt to change it. So do you guys use a OEM yamaha? A universal autozone/pep boys in line one? Thanks for the opinions guys! This forum is pretty cool how everyone is so willing to help out other fellow Vmax owners! Great community!

I use the reusable purolator. I just clean the filter element yearly.

Yes, a generic auto parts store inline filter w/the correct size openings will work fine, when you change it, cut it open to see what kind of crap has accumulated. No need to pay for an OEM Yamaha one.

One I have used: Duralast FF7144DL which has clip-off 1/4" ends and above those are 5/16" ends. At AutoZone, MSRP $2.69

I use the stock filter then before the fuel pump i use a washable russell like this.

I've been using a Polaris quad fuel filter. I'm not certain of the part number off hand. Cost me about $5 CDN.

I use a NAPA Gold 3011/Wix 33011 (just cut off the 1/4" ends so it is 3/8"):
