I was searching around the internet this morning, unable to sleep, thawing a couple frozen pipes in the upstairs bathroom (weathers supposed to break this week) when I came upon this thread.

Its about a noob looking for a first bike, then it evolves to guys only fitting on liter bikes, another who is 6' and says the Vmax is too small to fit him, and other humorous call outs.

My favorite part was the guy to was talking about he's only been riding a couple of years and now seems to know everything. He gets called out "weren't you the guy who wrecked?"

its only a couple of pages but it will give you at least a chuckle.

Hell, just as your mature enough to ride within your abilities who cares? I for one did not have the money for a "starter" bike. I decided to learn on the Max even after all the horror stories I read and glad that I did. By the way people talked about the poor handling etc of the Max , I figured everything else I would ride would be gravy. Although at this point I don't ever see me getting rid of the hot rod anytime soon. If anything I will have to add to, not take away.

I agree with you. I rode dirt bikes as a kid then joined the Navy. I didn't get on another motorcycle until I was 34, I bought my 05 VMAX. I had to lie to the dealer about my riding experience because he didn't want to sell it to someone without experience because of his conscience. I took the advanced riders msf course and learned a lot. I learned to respect the VMAX as soon as I left the parking lot. I have always kept it within my abilities. Now I have traded the 05 for the 09 and I am learning to respect the power and performance again. I know I will never ride it to its capabilities but I will stay within mine. :biglaugh:
