Thats what happens when you let socialst into office. Big Brother at it's finest.

Just targeting bikers with that . Here in NZ we have a 100db limit but that was bought into force with some cars with their dumper exhausts . If they gonna do that with bikes and there are most jappers with these exhausts on it that have been rated at 150db not to mention your big american v8s , what are they rated at then .
Seems like alot of bullshit to me :bang head:

I don't have any use for open straight pipes either but this will set a very unfavorable precident for us.

It seems like a gross over reaction to me. There is already a V & T reg against excessively noisey motorcycle exhausts, if it needs a little fine tuning, ok, do that. But this is ridiculous!!

Sounds like an opportunity for NYC to grab up some extra coin from us bikers!

shit , that law has been on the books in new jersey for ever ! Just never strickly enforced . But most of the times i would get moving violation tickets , as seen on my driving record in my album , they would give me a loud exaust ticket also ! And every time i would fight it , the judge would read right out of the law book , " any type of aftermarket exaust be it quiet or loud other then what the manufacturer put on it is illegal ! and i quote !

Sounds to me like someone needs to make a nice 'EPA' stamp pretty sharpish so we can all stamp our aftermarket items.

Show me a cop that'll know the difference when you point at the stamp... :rofl_200:

We have the same law here, but unless it's obnoxiously loud it dosn't get enforced. You would be amaized how many places have that law.

I only pulled one person over for exhaust noise and that was just because the sucker was running open header in his chevy II and never shifted out of first. a 10k small block is stupid loud.

I got a ticket for my truck being too loud, about 7 years ago, I was playing with my electric cut-outs while cruising down the main drag. It was funny, I closed them as the officer was walking up, the look on his face was priceless, but he knew excatly what I had. we had a good laugh over it.
