So the ups guy dropped off my new ricor intiminators last night. The wife is out of town so I figured there is no better time then now to install them! The problem is I didn't get very far, As I went to loosen the front fork cap bolt that has the air shrader in the center, the nuts rounded off on both, what the hell, used a matco 6 point 22mm socket. I will take the fork with me to the shop tomorrow and use the fancy new $400 snap on extractor set I just bought, once I get the cap bolts out I will need a new set of cap bolts so here is my question. Anyone know where I can get them for a fair price or does anyone have a "spare" set I can take off your hands?

Thanks
Richard

Well after fighting with the fork upper cap bolts I got my new intiminators installed. Much thanks again to Dannymax for coming through with some new cap bolts and shipping them to me asap, also thanks to Maxcruiser for answering some questions for me last night. I have not had a chance to ride it yet since it is raining pretty heavily today, hopefully it will clear up this evening so I can ride it and report!

Thanks again guys, this forum rocks :punk:

I figured they were cross threaded or something, when I finally got them out, they were NOT cross threaded, I found the issue was the seals on them were seized to the upper fork tubes, half of the seal was still attached to the tube when I got them out. The combination of the soft aluminum cap bolts and the resistance from the stuck seals was a recipe for distruction. Cleaned the tubes up with some fine crocus cloth and made darn sure the put some lube on the ones danny sent me before I installed them and torqued to spec!
