I was browsing CL and found this bike for sale. Looks like it has a 4 into 1 and then back into 2 exhaust. It was described as a holeshot system.

I saw a yellow max a few miles from my house that had dual "holeshot xxxxxx" cans on it. Can't remember what the xxxxx part was but definitely had holeshot in the name. Badges on the cans had black background with yellow lettering. Looked like 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" outlets. The primaries looked alot like the older hindle, big tube style. It couln't have been stainless, it had rust, looked like it was ceramic coated. But it went from 4 into 1 and then the left side muffler just appears out from under the bike. Never saw a system like it before or again. This picture looks pretty close to what I saw that day but in the pics it looks like the badges on the cans say kerker.

What's the deal with this?? Did Holeshot make a 4-1-2 system at one point in time?

The only way to find out for sure I guess is to call Dale walker and ask him , He is very good about explaining things and can tell you more about the system . I have spoken with him a few times and he will answer your questions.

Yes for a limited time they made a kit that took the standard 4-1 and made it a 4-2.

This is what I have been told on here but have never seen.

It was probably Dale Walkers Holeshot that you saw.

He used a Hindle pipe at the time. He makes his own now.

I had a friend that had one personally. The 4-1-2 was an old hindle that he replaced the center tube and routed the muffler to tie into it. Not really a normal dual out let but let the bike balance out the look and actually sounded deeper.

Hey Mike, That is correct I spoke to him yesterday relative to his exhaust and he was explaining to me about the old exhaust. I like his pipes but they don't sound healthy like the Marks.

AHA! THAT is exactly what I saw. Yours looks in much better condition tho. What did it say under the Holeshot logo? I've been trying to remember but just can't come up with it.

The bike was parked at a bar just down the road from my house. I pulled in the lot and went in to try and find the guy riding it but it was too crowded. I regret not doing it tho. I would have like to talk with the guy a bit. I drive past quite a bit but have never seen the bike back there again.

Correct. Holeshot performance. I have one old hindle like that left (but not with the extra muffler option).

And now I remember why I liked the sound of that bike so much. I think I'm going to order the smaller baffle from you Sean. 2.5 inch?

Which header? The hindle doesn't have as easily of replaced baffle. The kerker baffles can be had in the 1.5" (as equipped), 2" and 2.5" (which I like and sell more of).

Sean

The 2.5" comp baffle runs a little over $100 with shipping. Sounds ten times better then the baffle you get with the header new.

Sean

The 2.5" Kerker is MUCH louder than the Holeshot/Hindle but that's because the can is probably 4 inches shorter.

Chris

I had two endcans with my holeshot. The one you see and a 14 inch comp muffler. I'm not sure Dale ever sold a comp muffler as the one I had may have been cut down. I bought the system used from a member of another vmax site that is no longer up.
