How do I remove the grips?

I would like to install heated grips, but I can't figure out how to get the grips off. Help!

You can try cutting them off. Or, squirt some WD-40 up in there and start twisting.

If you have access to a compressed air source, that works great. Just take the bar ends off, blow the air in and pull. They come right off.

They are cheap pieces of plastic (that don't belong on a V-Max) but will twist off. I made some good aluminum ones when I changed grips. I use a touch of spray paint as cement to hold new grips---- be quick.:eusa_dance:

BTW:
I used a rubber stopper, a 2.5" long Allen head bolt, washer/w nut epoxied to it. All this to hold the bar end in place and be easily removable. Works great--- even sold a few pair.

If you peel the grips back towards the inside, you can tap the ends off from the back without damaging them.
