How to raise gear shift lever

Hey guys,

How do you raise the gear shift lever a little bit? I got some beefy new boots and would like a little more room to get them under the shift lever (1/4-1/2 inch or so). Thanks.

also note that one nut is reverse threaded (top maybe?) i forgot which one.

Crack the two jam nuts on the linkage loose and spin the knurled middle part.

You can also loosen the clamp on the actual shift shaft and rotate it one spline higher.
