I'm wondering if it's finished. On the other hand, it has a plate hanging off of it. With anything I've built, the license plate was the last thing that went on. It looks like it has some street/strip potential.

Triangulating is a good idea. I see the motor looks like a stressed frame member. The motor mounts are NOT beefy enough to do that. I guess one drops the motor down and not out? Of lift frame up ? A pro drag body kit hides the "ugly" and streamlines it not to mention giving it a better block for ones arse.

The pic there by john makes the Vmax look like a dirt bike. I know the Vmax frame needs work but frame braces look better than both of the ones pictured here.

Blocking the view of the engine is a sin in my book. That's the most beautiful part of any Vmax.

And our engine is a big, heavy block of metal. I can move one by myself, but it isn't easy. I like the idea of a custom frame, and it looks functional, but I have to agree w 'gamorgo.' It does have a very 'mechanical' look to it. Ugly, though, not like a Ducati Monster frame which is both functional (though I have never worked on one to know if it's got accessibility issues) and aesthetically-pleasing, an adaptation of the 851, which was the original 1980's Ducati Superbike.

First one is ******* hideous, looks like a drunken tractor mechanic found a Vmax motor and built everything else in a total funk after his wife left him....

How the heck do you make it that far without the liquor wearing off and asking yourself "what the hell is this thing I'm building??"


The second one looks fantastic in my book, it does look likes it missing things, and it is, no exhaust, foot pegs, gas tank, headlight, instrument cluster, bar controls etc....Looks like a mock up...
I think it has tons of potential IF you like the EU Vmax fighter look.


It does look like you would have to drop the engine to work on it tho....That'd be a pain in the ***.....wonder if the carbs will even come off?? that would be a deal breaker..

I don't think that engine is all that "stressed" either really, looks like a stiffer frame than stock with the engine hanging from it. Might be less stressed than a stock Vmax with solid mounts transferring ****** frame stress into the engine..??

I spoke to the Steelheart guys a few years back, after finding their website.

The picture of the Vmax that they have on their website today is the same one they did back than. When I asked if they had pictures of a finished bike, they did, this was as far as they got. They estimated the price (in CDN funds) around $5000-$7000 + shipping for a finished frame and swingarm.

Not sure if they ever did get a finished version of that Vmax frame.
