The unemplyment number went down because BIG O extended the unemplyment benefits for another year. 345,000 just dropped out of the work force and lying back sucking up the unemplyment benefit. Now I am not saying there are not a lot of self emplyed people out there that just can't find work because there is none in their field of work available and they deserve to draw the benefit. The real unemplyment number is around 10% if the 345.000 people were added in to the calculation. My belief is, THINGS ARE GOING TO WORSEN AS WE GO OVER THE CLIFF.................

I am with you ! I have been looking around at Jobs & I see more & more people telling me there not hiring that there fixing to be doing more lay offs. I even had a couple tell me it was because of the Taxes Obamacare is gonna put on them. I did find a temporary job but the guy dont want any one else on his books. I strat working Monday off the record.

The people that are staying on the unemployment roles, are the ones being counted as 'unemployed'. It's when they stop collecting, or stop applying for unemployement that they disappear from the counts.

I have NO DOUBT that Uncle O's staffers are trying their hardest to paint a rosy picture regarding unemployment numbers, but extending benefits isn't one of their tricks.

I have been out of work for almost 6 months now and struggling to even get an interview. Applied for a job which I have 20yrs experience and not even a call back. Applied for a job that I haven't done in over 20yrs and I get a call back, phone interview, and am now waiting to see if I move on in the process. Falling back on my Navy experience and training... go figure after 22 years it finally comes in handy, maybe the recruiter was right and just his timing was off.

I was layed off when they closed the doors been looking but not taking nothing but starving as it is.
The government let them take the jobs out of here free trade my ass. What's left the gov pays companies.
To hire workers from over seas to work here why hire someone here. Then the ones south of the boarder
Here by just coming across witch companies do not want to pay a fare wage for they get what's left.
So that it if your born here you do not matter.
