66 degrees, sun is out and looking like a beautiful weekend (expecting 80 deg).
I have been hearing bikes running up and down my street all day.......and my bike looks like this.

....well a little better than that right now.

Marks Exhaust is installed
Swingarm and tire are back on.

Still to do before riding:

Shim carb needles, adjust A/F mixture screws
Finish installing SS brake/clutch lines and bleed system
Change oil and filter
Change fluid in rear end
Install progressive springs and Ricor Intimidators up front.

DAMN YOU MOD MONKEY!!!!

Sounds like you need to catch a quick minor flu bug so you can stay home "sick" ;) Good Luck man

You are not alone. My '06 bears a striking resemblence. Only worse. Subtract the instrument cluster, carbs, v boost assembly and wiring, clutch, clutch MC.....

Add the fact that I don't know when I will see an exhaust system, intake setup, carb, etc....

It all equals one very frustrated me :bang head:

But, look at the bright side. It will be better when its done!

LOL! My mod monkey died a few years ago but I remember having to wait to on engine upgrade and basically missed an entire summer. Only two more things I want to do but am in no rush. Was going to buy another bike this year but my stock just took an unexpected nosedive and I've lost a TON on paper so I'll have to wait another couple of years before I can look again. (That is if my wife does'nt kill me when she finds out!).

Heck, just stay up tonight, finish her up, have a cup of coffee and go riding in the morning!

****HIJACK ALERT****

Which stock?

I am right there with you. Sent my scoops, sidecovers and carb covers to a body shop to polish the pieces back in December. I tried to polish them, no way I could make them look right with my tools. Just went and got them back this week and they were never polished, and the guy didn't have any ETA. Sent them to get powdercoated instead. Its damn nice out, I need to be riding!

While I guess I lose some "cool" points, the p/o of my Max was a mod monkey, and did pretty much everything I would have. My Max came fully tricked out(at least by my standards, after seeing Bill's bike at the pizza run...not so much) Only things left I want to do are a Morley seat and some sort of daytrip bag.

You just need to find some spare carb covers. You can ride without the rest on! :biglaugh:

Same boat here. But I still have to shim my valves, put the heads back on, put the motor back in (1300 Venture), rebuild front forks, etc, etc,...
If I could get off my lazy ass and do it now. Got fifty million other projects going on at the same time. I've buried myself :bang head:

Hey Warrior, I have one of these Tourmaster bags and it fits on the seat of the Max very good. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/4/71/5580/ITEM/Cortech-Sport-Tailbag.aspx

RA...Wife got me one of these for Christmas, I love it. It's the same one vmaxride06 had at the PR, maybe some other guys too. You just want, or prolly should, put some clear protective film on the cover before using it. They say it has a non-scratch pad but that's fine till some road grit gets in there.

BTW, wait till you see Bill's bike THIS year!! I heard he did a few 'minor changes' over the winter! :biglaugh:
