Well I came to Texas to visit family and pick up a Bultaco Matador that my Aunt gave me. I think my brother about has me talked into taking his old KZ 1300 home. I really do not need another project sitting around but I dont think I can pass it up.lol

I always liked them as well. Hell, there were few big CC bikes I DIDN'T like from the early 80s. I was looking for one when I bought my GS1100, but couldn't find any.
 
Tough bikes to find and even tougher for parts lol. Looks like it's all there though. Hopefully this next year i can get back on the CBX project I have around here.

I always thought these were interesting. They remind me of the Munch Mammoth, though the Munch's were air-cooled 4's. I met him (Friedl Munch) at Daytona one year.

The Munch Mammoth was capable of astonishing performance. A special was made to win the 1 hour performance record away from MV Agusta.
Münch continued development, producing the 115 horsepower Sport-Münch and the 125 horsepower “Daytona Bomb,” which was aimed at beating Mike Hailwood’s 1965 one-hour speed record of 145mph, set on an MV Agusta. At Daytona, the Münch was averaging 178mph, but no rear tire would last more than four laps! from the link, above. Not-bad for 1971!

The KZ1300 has that 'solid-bolck of motor' appearance like the Munch bikes.

Here's a pic of a very early Kawasaki 750-4 cyl DOHC stylng exercise from 1970. Note the cyl fins are solid, not separated, this is a 750 cc four-cyl. styling mock-up created in the USA but withheld from the market after the release of the Honda 1969 CB 750 K0, while Kawasaki re-tooled their 750 to be a 903 cc inline-four DOHC, finally released to market in 1973.
