Not me, but one of the truck drivers hauling blacktop for us. Were milling and paving the thruway (90) between dunkirk and westfield ( for you local guys). Were averaging around 2 and a half miles a day, so there's quite a push for the black top and milling trucks to hurry. This morning one of the blacktop guys dumped his material and then cleaned his box at the end of our work zone. In his rush he forgot to put his box down. The nearest bridge was only a few hundred yards up. He hit the bridge and tore the box right off the truck. The box went to the left and tore the last ten feet of a tractor trailer box off, and then landed on the left shoulder of the road. The dump truck ended up on the right shoulder. There was a ton of what if's going on. If that box would have hit a car, motorcycle or even the cab of a tractor trailer, it would have immediately crushed what it hit. For as bad as what happened today, it could have been a hundred times worse. The driver of the truck had minor injuries.
