Looking for advice!

After 10 years of talking about it, I'm finally looking for my first Vmax. What can I say, I'm 50 next month and buying a bike is a right of passage!

I'm looking for something in the 1997-2002 range and have about ?4000 in my pocket.

Can anybody offer me any advice on what to look for when buying, common faults etc.

Dave I am 57 and have a 2001 vmax....love it.....but don't ride very often....best advice is to look for low milage....there is a bunch of them out there.....
