Looking into torque bars

I've been browsing torque bars and I can't find a set under $200 sum bucks. That seems like alot to me for a few pieces of metal bars and welding brackets. Couldn't I just do an old fashion DIY for much less and have the same results?

Im SURE you can DIY for cheaper,I have been thinking of doing the same thing...
There is actually a thread still circulating about a guy making his own.As soon as I get around to buying more welding wire Im ganna start looking long and hard at it myself.
