Ok it's late here at work and had a break so decided to do some cleaning on my carbs. They are all still together just like I pulled them off the engine. I took breakclean and bathed the carbs from top to bottom and everything cleaned up real nice. Maybe I am paranoid being carbs scare me to death lol but it seems that my linkage for my choke is really stiff now after cleaning. It seemed to move alot easier before. Any ideas? and does anyone spray a lubricant on linkages and that sort of stuff pertaining to the carbs?:ummm:

LPS1 is a great lube, none drying and doesn't collect dust. if not then even any good lithium grease or wd40 will do.

Anything NON SILICON will work. Silicon will dry out the rubber bits... This is why Armor-All and the sort are BAD BAD BAD for tires, dashes and the such...

thanks guys for the ideas. I went to my local parts store and only had a choice between wd40 and CRC Power Lubricant so I went with the CRC brand. Imediately freed right up :) went ahead and sprayed all areas that had a shaft exposing and springs and linkages on both carbs and vboost manifolds. Hopefully I'm good to go there now!!!!

Try Boeshield, goes on wet then dries dry. I used to use it on my Mt. Bike chain in Georgia/ Washington State and it worked great to keep it lubed and crude free.

Be sure to lube the carb chains while you have them off - hard to reach them with the air box in place. I use CorrosionX. :biglaugh:

r u serious carb chains lol told ya I'm stupid when it comes to carbs :) gonna have to look that one up to know what u r talkin about lol

I upgraded my carb chains with Morley's sealed gear drive kit so I don't have to worry about lubing them. :biglaugh:

Glad to hear this as I've been thinking about this kit for some time, but was always concerned there wouldn't be enough room between the sprockets cams and auto tensioners!!

This is very good news indeed!! :clapping:

Is that kinda like changing your blinker fuild? :rofl_200: :rofl_200:

Oh crap... Thanks for the reminder... I'm getting my max out of storage tomorrow and I'll stop off and pick some up. That's one of the fluids I haven't changed yet.
