What size is big enough when weighing ease of pulling vs interior space needed?
I would like to be able to carry 2 bikes(Vmax's) some tools and riding gear.
I'm thinking at minimum it should be 10' long (cargo area), 6' wide and 75" tall (interior height).
I am contemplating this trailer, what do you think? Price competative?

I may be able to get them to deliver it as they provide this service for their other trailers. Since they are located about 340 miles from me so this would save close to $200 in gas plus my time.

Its all up to you in the long run but me personally would never buy anything else again with less than a 12 foot cargo area. It gives you plenty of room to stagger the bikes & still enough room if you want to put a toolbox etc in the front. I had a 10 foot & just wanted a little more room.

Kyle, that looks like a v-nose , may give him a little more room. Looks like a good price to me. I m looking to get some thing smaller for Percie. Good luck.

Redbone,

I hade a Haulmark custom made for my Max with all the goodies and it was also a v-nose, pulled great. The problem was Haulmark had alot of quality problems and had to do some repairs after I received it, F-Haulmark.

I strongly advise you to google Legend Trailers in St. Johns Mi, also known as Becks. They are all aluminum, frame and all, and made in St. Johns to great standards. I would buy from them if I had it to do all again for sure. All aluminum is the way to go as is Torsion axles with the grease fittings, vents, stabilizers, premium lightening, side door, and marine grade 3/4 plywood floors. Make sure you get a spare tire.

Yep its a vnose & if all your hauling is a Vmax or something simialer its fine. For me I never know what I am hauling Sometimes its a stretched chopper & sometimes its a moped.

I hear you Kyle, and A trailer is just like a garage.....................never big enough!

Ouchez, I sent for a quote to Becks, the trailers look like what I want, and made in Michigan to boot!:clapping: I hope their prices are in my price range!!
Kyle and Rick, I had my tape measure out and I think 10' long and 6' will be too small in the long run. If I get the 15' I might put a tool cabinet in the "V". I want to stay w/ a single axle to keep trailer weight down, my GMC 350 v8 is a thirsty lad to begin with.
I found a couple trailers 7x14 and 7x15 like this one. Once the quote comes back I'll see what I can afford and see if they have any used stock that may fit the need.

I am sure you thought of this, but a single axle trailer might not have enough load capacity. The trailer in the link load capacity was 1500#s. 2 vmaxes, tool box, and you could be there. I like 2 axles, much better when you have a flat.

Red,

You cannot beat legend for quality and you can deal with them.

You must keep in mind that trailers with a non aluminum frame rust quickly in MI. and need constant sanding and paint touch up.

That trailer in the picture is great, just make sure it has rear stabilizers, did not see it mentioned. I live 25 mins from the Legend factory and sales lot so if you want me to check anything let me know.

If this one is out of your budget you should also consider a Legend big enough for your Max and tool box. Mine is a single bike trailer and had plenty of room for tool box, oil etc. and I had the front wheel chock put in that auto locks when you drive into it. Also remember to have plenty of tie downs, I had a few extra put in. You will love having a nice trailer, so many uses for it.

If you go to my company web site, signalcomtec.com, you can see my bike trailer being attached to a Vibe.

Trust me if you can get the 7 width instead of 6 you will love it. A foot in width makes all the diffrence in the world when loading bikes.

I'm going to try for the 7' wide trailer the extra space will come in handy I'm sure. I originally thought about a single axle for the economy but the more I think about it I may be limiting the trailers usefulness w/ a 1600 cargo capacity. A 1600 ib capacity would work ok for a couple Vmax's, a few tools and gear, but when I'm using it for other uses it may be too light.:confused2:
I'm going to see where the prices are at for the double axle. Comparing a 7 x16 with the 7 x 15 I noticed that they really don't weigh that much more (1400lbs vs 1630lbs) but the capacity is drastically better (1599lbs vs 5370lbs). I going have to weigh the cost vs benefits a bit more.
I'm glad I posted this up for all your feedback, I know now that I'll get what I need for all the ways I'll use the trailer.

Here's a good one for the price, I think. I do not know this person.

nice 10 foot by 6 foot enclosed trailer. does not leak inside, tows very good, i have only used a van to tow this and once a year up to maine and back, never had a issues, orginal tires since i got it so might want to replace those, lights work. leds on the inside change differnt colors and come with a remote

inside is very nice...i wanted the outside to look plain... and the inside has nice brand new carpet, custom led light strips on all 3 sides of the walls, walls are clean/ in great condition roof is great, flooring is good and has a custom built front wheel chock for my motorcycle, but that can be removed easily

up for sale is a trailer i bought off craigslist 4 or 5 years ago. i had to get rims and tires and re did the inside so its registered as a home trailer. i had a motorcycle alarm and lighting bussines and would travel up to boston, NH and maine every year so needed a good trailer to tow my motorcycle and still have some room for other stuff. i also wanted a trailer wihtout alot of crazy writing on it or somthing expensive looking that is gona draw attention. this is a great little trailer. i ended up using mostly for storage and the 1 drive up north every year.

first person with 1900 cash, thats the price, iv been offered 1500, wouldnt take it. they sell the led lights at tuppans alone for $250, uninstalled. 1900 for a good 10 foot enclosed trailer with all that is a good price. 561 312 5447 im in west palm beach off southern and 95

Come to FL for Bike Week next month and bring home a trailer!
Be sure and check-out the link for the cloro-changing accent interior lights! Set the mood for that skank H-D groupie that sees your VMax and decides she'e ready for 'something different!'

Apologies if your spouse reads this.

I just posted an ad for a v-nose trailer in the 'for-sale' thread, it is NOT MINE! It's in the misc. for sale: C.L. & etc. part. Looks like a fair deal for someone. $1500 is the asking price.

Im looking for a trailer but cant find exactly what I want. 8' wide is the ticket.. Never knew why they built trailers with the wheels sticking out further than the trailer.. 8' would require mirror extensions though.

Im looking for one big enough to make a toyhauler. With aluminum frame and floor..

I just picked up this baby!:eusa_dance:

I dont think I will be getting any Christmas cards from the neighbors this year.:rofl_200:
