Hey all,

Not sure how many of you use Mozilla as your browser but if you do and also use broadband then follow this link and do what it says! :thumbs up:

I have a huge issue loading this forum for some reason and by doing this it made it manageable. My other forums load instantly whereas this one takes several seconds. Before it was up to 30 seconds to load! Ugh...

Cheers,
Chris

It has sped my system up SOOOO much! :thumbs up:

I haven't gone to Youtube to see how fast vids download... I don't think it will help that though:damn angry:

I've given up on Firefox and use Chrome now. I find it much faster than Firefox.

Ya, theres all sorts of things you can do in the about:config menu. 30 is a safe number for requests, but really you can set it to however many you want. I tried 250 once on my university's network and the whole pitiful system crashed the second I tried to load a page. I got a strange email from the IT department that was a mix of suspiscion/anger that I had dropped a virus or something. I simply told them that I set my browser to automatically make 250 separate data streams instead of one, and their long obsolete and tremendously overloaded servers just **** the bed. They told me not to do it again and not try to "unfairly acquire more bandwidth", and that they have filters and limits in place to "ensure equal distribution of bandwidth to everyone". I dropped it to 100 and haven't had issues since, and downloads are considerably faster.

+1, ran firefox for ages in a stance against IE but firefox has had it's issues also.
I just find chrome a no nonsense browser that works without drama.
