So, as some of you know... I downed my Max in September, and to much chagrin it was totaled out. But after many phone calls to Sean, along with many emails and parts later, I now have a functional USD front end off a YZF750R transplanted to the max.
The parts list goes as follows:
Yzf750r forks
Racetech 1.0k springs
Yzf750r masters
Galfer ss lines
Yzf750r 6pot calipers
Yzf750r fender
Yzf750r triple clamps
Yzf750r front wheel and rotors
Radiator
Unknown black face speedo (that I lost the wiring diagram to)
New shifter parts (some of which I salvaged off a venture at the local bike graveyard)
New left side scoop
14.5" rear shocks
Extra long bolt + hammer (to straighten the frame where the left foot peg mounts)
New mounting bolts for the brakes (the Canadian who sent them to me forgot to include hardware)
A mightyvac (which I didn't own but now do, and assisted trumendously in my flush/cleaning of the brakes and clutch, seriously I couldn't have done it without that sucker)
Lots of elbow grease
My buddy's garage where we've been slowly learning how to do all this stuff.

Stuff I still need:
New front tire
Paint
Fender mounting hardware
Rear seat eliminator
Patience

It's safe to say I learned a few things doing this, like that I need more tools, and I'm still not done feeding that damn monkey...
But hopefully I'll have it totally assembled and painted by this weekend and only awaiting the shipment of the new tire, so I can terrorize the streets and get used to the way this thing rides now that I've changed everything.

Congrats and welcome to the USD side. Thanks to Sean for my chromed out R-1 forks and Nobody for the ZX-750R front end from this happy camper. I think the radials that came along for the ride were the most important upgrades for settling the handling , braking & safety issues the VMax is famous for.

All buttoned up and plasti dipped, now just waiting on a new shorai battery and a replacement r/r to hopefully get it running so I can do a cycle of seafoam through the fuel and hit the twisties.

Looks good but is there enough clearance when the forks compress? Might be the photo but it looks like the radiator is in for a hard time..

what year YZF750R parts did you use? are the parts a direct bolt on to the head?

Same question as above...you where able to use the yzf750 upper and lower triple? I thought you would need custom ones built for clearance?

I can't remember for sure what we sent him. I want to say it was a 1995 or 1996 YZF front setup complete. I think we had to press the Vmax stem out of the donor triple and then into the YZF lower. The rest is mostly a bolt on depending on how you want the configuration of the key and headlight stuff.

Wouldn't the yzf750 triples make it to low at the front. That is why you get triples made to get more of the forks lower in the triple( 2 inch drop in the triples)
Or can i just use 1999-2001 r1 front end with triple and just get the vmax stem pressed in?
I am asking because i just happen to have a r1 front end sitting here :). would re valving be needed?

The R1 forks are shorter and the YZF has the larger brakes (which can swap easily enough) as well as 3 way adjustable forks if I remember correctly. The R1 trples require more work to prep for the install (you have to weld up the diameter of the stem, turn it down, and then press it in). So, the modified R1 front would sit even lower.

The FZR1000 in 94/95 are not very adjustable but they are the longest of the bunch and I think the stem is even the correct length to start out with.
