Going with a stock 1985 rim in the rear with a shinko that has low tread is 5lbs lighter and 9/16 of a inch shorter. anyone know the weight differance between the 1985 rim and a newer style rim. I also have a 1985 front rim and i hear its 3lbs lighter than a new style front rim.

Cool.............................hows your overall weight going, loss any anywhere else?

I have lost 12 pounds so far And I would like to lose 10 more I have a few other things I can take off the bike to lose more weight on the bike

That's one hell of an incentive to lose weight!! Maybe ill try it!! Or.. Maybe not.. Lol!!

Couple less donuts and tacos could be 10 lbs!

I need to lose about 20 lbs and I ll be at 190 naked. That would put me around 220 lbs in gear.

Looks good on the rear wheel !

Mike that's great! Better times AND better health :clapping:

Your little toddler ass Ways two hundred and ten pounds todd and you're giving me s*** at 250 pounds and I'm 6 foot 2 you only look to be 5 foot 6 how could you weigh 210 pounds and if so that makes you about 60 pounds overweight I'm thinking you way more like 180 or 190

Shit, I'd be thrilled to get to 240 before my gear but got a feeling 250 is gonna be the best I can do... Wheel looks great Mike, I know the 85 front with a 110/80-18 radial is like 6 or 8 pounds lighter than the later ones but I have no idea on the rear but the reduced diameter should help a little too. Good job on losing weight, it's a constant struggle for me, if I can get to 240lbs I'm pretty sure I'll crack the 10's on motor cause I went 11.21 at 293lbs race weight and found a few lbs off the bike too... Crossing my fingers..

There you go Mike- Todd got it for you- Race naked and gain a tenth or so.

I still think you should go for a 17" rear for race day and set up a kill button shift.

I'm on a See-food diet. (I see food I eat it) But then I can't even lift my foot to get it on the gear shift to shift to 2nd when I'm launching. And My bike is the slowest bike in the group.

Weight = traction but also slower ET's.

I thought the 85 rear was heavier then the other years. Still need to put the bike on a diet too.

Yeah when I get down to 190 I ll be happy, tipped the scales right now at 206. If I can cut 16 more lbs I ll be there! I just don't get enough exercise.

Lets make a track day soon and we can see how your jetting worked out!

Todd

I know a great way to put the bike on a diet Mike.... See there is a whole bunch of extra alum. inside the cylinders. You could have Sean bore a bunch of that out of there and I'll bet the bike would be quicker!

I'm 6' and I weigh in at about 290, I would like to see Mike's 250 this year. I have a desk job that has me sitting 8-9 hours a day at work. I've cut my caloric intake down by a ~1/3 but the weight needs exercise to come off.
I would like to ultimately get to ~225 so I would be about ~250 - 255 in gear.

I wish I would of saved my old Shinko's, I threw out like 4-5 with partial tread on them. I do have one on my stock rim I'll save for you Mike, I'll try to remember to bring it for you @ Thunder.
Just the tire and not the rim!:biglaugh:
