Put your midpipe and can (with or without the baffle) back on and the bike should pick up some speed. It can't scavange very well right at the stub.

Other then that it looked like a good launch (but maybe a red light on that pass??).

I've made a few dyno pulls with and without the mid pipe and with the can/w baffle, but I've never made a pass down the track with the mid-pipe or can/ no baffle on the bike. I'll have to give it a try next time I race. Im very curious now...On the dyno, the bike actualy made more power straight header. With just the mid pipe, HP was the same, but torque was down a couple numbers. With the can on, HP was down, but torque was back up to about the level of straight header. Might have a little bit to do with the jetting too. I'm running a Stage7. I've never made a dyno pull with the can on/ baffle out though! What kind of MPH difference did you see with the mid pipe/can on with no baffle? This past weekend it an 1/8th mi track, it ran 102. On the 1/4mi pass in the video, I think it was 123. I'll have to look for a slip.

The light was actually green, LOL..., :punk: It was probably a .030 or better. Thats about what I usualy pull.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to make a few passes at the track with the can/no baffle and see how it works at the track. I've sold my dyno, so I dont have that prevlege now...:bang head:

How do you like the 1500cc engine? If I ever have to pull my engine (hope I never have to) that may be my next step.

Have you ever raced it at the track? What kind of HP and times does she turn? I want one!!!!

Had not run the 1500 at the track (always something wrong at the time I want to go lol). Your mph is very good and I would not expect a big change (maybe 1 or 2) by adding the pipe. Of course you need to do back to back runs on the same day to eliminate (at least as much as you can) any weather related factors during your test.

The 1500 runs much stronger! I've run a best of 10.98 @ 121 on a stock engined Vmax with header and jet kit with the right weather and good traction (not a slick). I would expect the 1500 to run low 10's and maybe high 9's with the right conditions.

I did watch a turbo 1261 vmax run 9.40's a couple of years ago which was very good considering the bike was pulling a 300 - 350lb guy. Haven't talked to him in some time but he was building a bigger engine to turbo.

If you like racing I have a 1500 chain drive longrod motor that ran 8.30's @ 160 I would sell. I even have a chassis it could go in (not the chassis it made those passes in).

The best ever I've turned on my V Max which is similar to yours with stock engine, header and jetted was a 10.86 @ 125. I have no idea where that mph came from. I was running some good fuel and launching it as hard as I could. It would float the front tire off the ground for about 60ft.
During bracket races, I tone the launch and leave at 4500rpm and grunt it off the line, then twist the throttle when the clutch is engaged. When I run like that, it usualy runs 11.0's @ 121-122mph.

That 1500 engine sounds like a killer. It would be nice to go to the track and beat up on some stretched 1000's that run low 9's

PM me some specs on it and the chassis or chain swing arm with some $$$ figures when you get time.
