Hi all, I need some help. I disassmled my stock 1989 front end to do an R1 conversion. However, due to circumstances, this is being put off. I reassembled the front end and have two large, rubber washers left over. I have no idea where they go, and haven't found any diagrams or photos to help.

Would someone please take a couple of pics of a stock, pre 1993 for me?

Thanks in advance!

did u take a look at a microfiche? what size are the washers? did u take apart your forks?

Large rubber washers go between top tree and the top of the air fittings that go onto the fork tubes.

I assumed that's where they belonged, but when I tried to reassemble with them in place, the cap nut for the steering stem was extremely tight. Does it matter which way the serrations face: up or down? Thanks

can't remember. put in some progressive springs remove all that crossover stuff and put a little jb weld in the tiny holes for the air. be done with it don't need any air
