Did you light your acetylene and wave the smoky torch over wet paint?

Ive heard of that but no i painted it black and after it was dry i painted it with a very wet coat of white and wrapped it with saran wrap and pulled the wrap off and than sprayed candy red over it.

Wow, old-school early custom paint! Ya shoulda used some lace, who recalls that method? Very popular when used in panels inside another intricate layout.

I've always been partial to scalloped paint, though I've never done anything like that to anything I've owned. Ed Roth was someone who could do scallops well. I recall his car w/copper & white scallops.

And his bike hauler, w/a Trumpet.

Bug Daddy Ed Roth was ahead of his time.

He even made a hovercraft which once almost decapitated a show-attendee due to a mechanical failure. After that, he never ran it again, supposedly.

Think what he would do today w/modern composites. A lot of his stuff was formed over plaster-of-paris, which he would then knock-out of the shape the fiberglas set-into, unless it wasn't able to be removed, in which case it stayed inside the cavity, sealed-in, and heavy. He used to form his Plexiglas bubble canopies first heating the plastic in a local pizza oven and then shaping it.

They make a marbelizer additive now that doesn't require the saran wrap treatment but I do like the results either way.
