New Springs, or New Springs and Emulators

I'm getting ready to upgrade the forks with at least race-tech springs. Why do I need the gold valve emulators?

I'm 6' 260lbs and ride semi-aggressively in straights and turns.

I'm ordering new fork seals, are Parts unlimited ok, or should I stick with OEM?

Python has these. I can't tell what brand they are.

OEM for sure through Gary McCoy. Others have tried the other brands and they leak soon after installation.

Ok, I have the forks off. I have disassembled one fork. I can't seem to get the damper rod out of the tube. It has the oil lock piece attached. The manual shows the lock piece off of the damper.

How do I get the lock piece off the damper?

Installation says to press the lock piece back onto the damper.

Doh! NM I cleaned the damper up and it just pulled off.
