What about the other 43 states?
Big surprise that NY "pioneered" this practice. Right about the same time the state went totally flat ass broke, so they figured they could levy a nice tax on people going to Americade. I didn't see one this year, though other years they were in a rest stop on I87 north, like 20-30 miles before lake george. They had the entire lot full of bikes and backed up onto the exit ramp.
at that one, in the interest of keeping things at least somewhat moving, they were just checking for DOT helmets and inspection stickers and waving people through.
Then after you passed it without fail 1-2 miles down the road was a cop with a bike pulled over, presumably for failing to stop for their inspection.
