oil through the valve cover gasket

Hello everyone. I'm slowly noticing that my bike has been "sweating" oil for a long time through the valve cover gasket on the right side of the cylinders, but not on the left side. There is no significant oil consumption. The bike only has 20,000 km and everything is fine. Should I start thinking about changing the cylinder head gasket? Would it be advisable to retighten it? Not related to the cylinder head gasket- just the valve cover gasket and the half-moon plug.

You can try snugging up the valve cover, but it may or may not help.

You'll be coming up on a valve adjustment relatively soon. If it were me, I'd replace and re-caulk the plug at that time.

That’s low miles so I’d clean it up and reapply sealant. There should be black sealant on the half moons and a few mm each side.

Be very careful about using an excess of gasket sealant. Do NOT succumb to 'if a little is good, a lot is better,' because it isn't true! An excess of sealant could come off inside the engine, and migrate to an oil passageway and cause oil starvation.

In the appendix is a list of screw sizes, and places where they are found in the engine. There are also torque values listed. You can try re-torquing the fasteners for the valve cover, but don't be disappointed if the seepage continues. The best way to do it is as described above.
