Oil light

Ive noticed if I hammer out of a corner , the oil light comes on once in a while and also if I get up around 7 or 8 k in the revs. What could this be a sign of? The motor was rebuilt by pcw and has the upgraded oil system in it.

It's a level sensor. Not a pressure sensor. The sensor is also at the front of the oil pan so normal for it to be uncovered under hard acceleration.

Just be sure you do have the proper amount of oil atleast mid way in the sight glass.

There ia pleanty of oil... I was concerned the pump may be bad... Bit if its a level sensor that makes sense

Some people say that the only "right" way to ride a Vmax is to be seeing the oil light. Personally, I think that's a good way to get yourself hurt. If you're constantly seeing the oil light, slow down a bit, or maybe put a couple more ounces of oil in the motor.
