This thing freakin' RIPS!!!!! Stuff was going by fast and then it was like hyper drive. Seems like I got the pipes all blown out and my bike is finally running right.

All the reading, asking, searching, and listening to advice from you guys has made me a happy camper. I still have to see if I've got a rust issue, but with everything I've been though over almost two years getting this bike back on the road, that will be a piece of cake.

Thanks, everyone.

You wouldn't have believed us anyway , Glad you've got it sorted and can now ENJOY the thrill of owning a VMAX

I gotta go out for a night ride tomorrow before I go out of town for a few days so I can test the aiming of my HID Adjure headlight I got from Sean. I never did get it aimed right because I couldn't find that little wire clip. now that' I've got it, it's aimed all up in high-beam territory. Hopefully I won't be outriding the headlight all the time now.

It got postponed/cancelled for this year. There's a chance that I'll be relocating to northern Virginia in a couple weeks depending on how an interview goes this weekend. I'll be bringing the bike with me, of course. I'll have to find some time to come visit if marching band season allows it.

Good luck w/the interview. Nothing like going down to the wire on the start of the school year!

Trouble with the Vmax is you get used to the power.:sad2:
Awesome thing is the possible performance mods are endless.:clapping:

Yeah. I got used to all my other bikes. I'm hoping this one takes longer. I need to get used to riding again before I get used to the power. Gonna go run through a tank today to check for carb/mileage issues (hoping everything is good).

Yeah... I'm already starting to thirst for more.

Its a killer though that the one set of mufflers I have been able to find that actually give me wood in the looks department are a 4-4 system, which means I will most likely need a custom set of headers made up to convert the cobras from that 4-4 to a 4-2-4 setup to regain stock levels. Then from there, maybe I can start doin mods that will significantly boost performance and handling.

Yes, the possible mods ARE endless. Sadly, this bike is gonna be keeping my wallet nice and flat. Especially once I decide I wanna park a 2nd Gen next to Woona.

On the plus side, just think of how that flat wallet will keep your back from going out of alignment and having to go see the chiropractor for multiple adjustments...to say nothing of the vboost therapy keeping you out of the head doctors office! :eusa_dance:

That's BB....always finding the bright side!! :rofl_200::rofl_200::rofl_200:

143 miles... 4.6 gallons of gas (two stops). Seems like everything is just about right. It's possible that i could maybe go in a 1/4 turn on the screws because it's not in love with full throttle around 3k. 42mpg cruising at 70 with overdrive trans is certainly not bad. I'll probably have some solid motor mounts for sale next week, though. A bit too buzzy for my hands and feet even with all Kuryakyn iso grips/pegs. Then a Maxgasser when I lose some weight.

Always a fun bike BUT, they love the cool fall air just like an old hot rod...you will feel it

Dave....is your math right? :ummm:

No. The 42 mpg was on the return tank. The first had a bunch of idling and miscalibrated speedo...
