Time for a new battery. For those using the Panasonic..are you using any kind of terminal adapter to get the posts to attach from the top (as normal) or are you just twisting your wires to make it fit?

UB battery install. It fits right in, I bent the ground wire tub - if you look at the picture you can see how I did it... The clear silver is ground to the frame. I had the battery now about 7 month a think.
This battery is 18amps... There's another to thats 22amps the some size.

I paid about $35.00 for the battery not sure but around $35.00 for it if I remember right.

^ Same here (UB12180).
I've had mine for almost 7 years now and don't remember exactly what I did but I think I just twisted the wires around a little to connect them.
I do know it slid right into the Battery box and was a very simple Install.
And as stated above the UB12220 is even stronger 22 Ah/420 CCA and is the same size as the UB12180.
I paid about $50 for mine (Including Shipping).
I'll be buying a UB12220 if/when I ever need another battery.

Have you already bought it? if not, DON'T. Mine cratered in short order. Get the Infinity Battery. This thing already has enough problems in the electrical area.

If you are stuck with it, I drilled the holes out in mine so I could put bolts through there. Then after an hour of hand tightening I got it installed. never again.

If your talking about the same battery I have. You don't need to drill the posts they have holes and the screws nuts that come with it work find I just added 2 washers per side. I'm not sure about other problem with the UB type batterys at the time I was looking for a battery I read the reviews and a few members here recommend the UB battery I have that was good enough for me. I'm very happy with it. I have a total 5 battery's 1 install in my generator. I was going to buy the odyssey battery at a price, at that time was $179.00 vs $35.00.

Only thing I think of you may have ground the + side to the frame.
I install the plus side 1st...

yea that is more or less what the Panasonic battery terminals looked like. No I did not connect it incorrectly. It may work for you just fine. I've had a new stator and voltage regulator installed in mine and I have a feeling that the charging system on these bikes is a bit weak. I ride alone. I don't like to take chances I don't have to. Somebody else bought the Panasonic. This is kind of a shared bike project.

Hi john, can give a little info why you had to drill the posts, and what happen when the battery was install. The battery you have recommend his the same post as the UB12180. So I'm trying to understand what happen and why you don't like the UB12180 battery. What made you switch to the infinity it's 13.85 pounds vs 11.7 pounds.

I have no charging problems or being weak. I have change the stator and the rectifier in 9/2012 my bike.

There may be something going on with your system.
