I haven't seen any discussion about these specific air shocks. Has anyone tried these shocks? Any thoughts are welcome. I am starting to look at suspension upgrades.

Thanks, Pat

I have 412's and am very satisfied. Any correct Prog. Susp. shocks are going to help, or any-other quality manufacturer. More $, more features. I have a set of 440's I haven't bothered to fit because they are 1-1/2" shorter, and I don't want to lose the ground clearance. Also, the 412's are doing fine for my riding.

At the front, I have a Superbrace installed, and Race Tech springs and RICOR's when I can get-around to it. Since I went to radials, a lot of my handling concerns have vanished. I already replaced the head bearings w/All-Balls tapered rollers.

I have Progressive front springs in the mail.

Now that I have her running good, I am going to focus on the suspension. I do not need anything too high performance but the OEM suspension allows the bike to bounce around quite a bit. I am 6' 3" so I need to keep the OEM height on the bike.

Anyone know the specifics about 440, 412, 410 etc? What do these numbers correspond too?

Look at the prices, that should guide you, more $, more features: adjustability, sophisticated damping, rebuildability. The 440's have been superseded. 412's are entry-level, but better than stock, in my experience.

The Progessive springs and the preload setting of your choice should stop the bounce. Maybe start with 1 1/2" preload and try it, then adjust if too stiff.Better rear shocks will help out a lot too. Better braking is also a benefit of fixing up the suspension.

Ended up putting on 13" 412 Heavy Duty springs. I called Progressive and the Tech made some very good points in regards to 416 springs vs. 412 springs which lead me to purchase the 412.
