I did push in the pistons, and I've been pumping the pedal and the pistons aren't doing anything. I can't imagine how air could have got in but I'm going to buy a self bleeder and try to bleed the air out. The brakes worked perfect before I took off the old pads. WTF ?
This just happened to me with the fronts a couple days ago. see http://www.vmaxforum.net/showthread.php?t=17059
Then I popped open the reservoir cover and diaphragm thingie and squeezed to look for bubbles, and when I did, the lever was tight and everything worked.
Put the cover back on and it was fine. I don't know why. Couldn't hurt to try it...
Ok, thanks guys, I guess I had air in the lines. I pumped and pumped until finally they started grabbing. I bled both front and back now the brakes work better than ever. I guess sometimes just don't exercise enough patience. But thanks again to everyone who at least tried to help. Ed
