I need to make a female threaded rod M6 with 0.5mm pitch. i know this is an oddball pitch..is this possible?

Yes, you can buy a die if needed and cut the thread yourself on a section of rod. I have the taps on hand but not the dies.

i would need the tap..I need to drill a M6 hole in a rod then tap it..so there is such a thing as a m6 0.5 pitch tap??

OK just called a specialty tap supplier..91 bucks for the tap!! I think i'll just ask my machinist to do it..should take about 5 min

Yep, I have a few on hand for about $10. I think it's the same size as the a/f screws.
