Quieter exhaust

I have a 4 into 1 UFO exhaust system. I am getting lots of attention from the local police, so I need to quiet down the decibels. Would orefer to do this on the cheap, but I do have some proffesional welders as friends, so modifying the current muffler area of the pipe is an option. Thanks for any input.

You should be able to adapt just about any muffler that will fit in the space available, as long as the pipe diameter is right and you have a good anchor point. Some people have also used car mufflers successfully, and those can come very cheap from the wreakers!
