Rear running lights

A word to the wise, Ed - in many jurisdictions only the colour RED can be displayed continously on the rear of a motor vehicle (the exception being emergency vehicles). You might want to check with your local police. Another option would be an extra taillight. A lot of the folks on this forum have done that already. For example, Mr. COPRUNNER just installed an awesome LED tailight, that replaces the rear reflector. VERY bright.

The blue wire going to the taillight is the one you want...it's the one that can be used for running lights . The yellow is for the blinkers .

I put harrison specialty red lights on back and custom dynamics led bar on the back, I'll try and post some pictures for you this weekend...Came out nice and its bright

I thought about wiring some like that but using a relay to make them running, brake and signal lights.

All I did was create a wire harness with some connectors (male and female) that I hooked into the running light wire in the rear fender, and made something line a 1 into 4 wire harness so I had four lines to connect into the various lights I wanted to illuminate as running lights. I hooked up the running lights on the turn signals(red), custom dynamic led strips, license plate light, and something else, cant remember.

Thanks everyone for all the input. I guess I forgot to mention that I already did away with the big stock taillight and I put a LED light where the reflector on most is and is the amber ok in the *** end as running lights ? I also am considering putting the amber LEDs in the scoops just to flash with the turnsignals . The LED taillight now is plenty bright but I'm thinking the runners on the rear would light up the chrome in the back as well. Ed
