I have cobras and have decided to reinstall the stock pipes, I know I will need new graphite gaskets but not sure if I can do this with the rear wheel on?

I dont have a centre stand so would be good if anyone can confirm before I take off the Cobras?

thanks Ed

Without the center stand it will be a great struggle. Taking the rear wheel off is also a great help.
You really need either a bike lift, or a bike stand (to grab wheel axle), or you'll need to lift the bike and rest it on a box (the exhaust headers under the bike can take its weight no prob).

Trying to refit the OEM mufflers on your own is nearly impossible. It's doable, but only with great difficulty, and much easier if the four headers are loose. Doing it with two people is the way.

If I was you, I'd look for some better slip-ons - Supertrapps, Jardines, Akrapovic, anything like those are great as they're not too loud and SO much lighter than the OEM ones..

Thanks, I thought it may be a struggle, not a great choice of exhausts here in England and prices are high but maybe I would get some money back selling the Cobras...

Actually you can get lots of very cheap slip-ons in the US, and shipping to UK isn't all that bad. A lot of peeps here would be happy to help you if you find some that won't ship worldwide :)

I know I would if I still lived there! Coming to freeze my butt with you this Saturday, it'll be a change from the meltdown here - 38-40C every day this week!!

We got treated to our relatives pics on the beach in Melbourne at new year you lucky lot!

Saturday here will be around 5 degrees max!!

I will search for pipes, fancy stainless or black, maybe black supatrapps
