removing throttle cables

Ok is there a trick to remove throttle cables to remove carbs from bike?

Ive always had good luck taking them off from the throttle, and that will free up the slack so I can take the cables off of the linkage from the carbs. Takes me maybe 5 mins that way.

This has been my tool of choice when it comes to removing the throttle cable from the carbs:

Harbor Freight saves the day.. LOL

As stated the junction box is the way to go, but be careful you don't strip those tiny screws when threading them back in to the plastic! Always makes me nervous when I'm reassembling.

^ I have been through mine soooo many times I now have larger screws in them now.Not as nervous anymore.

I tip them upside down and use a hooked or right angle pick tool

I used to do that with angled needlenose pliers.
