Ok, here's a product I haven't used, but reading on the webbikeworld.com site, I think I might!

The fact it comes from a well-known supplier of mechanical goops is good-enough for me. I'm gonna try it and see how it works. I may also get some POR-15, which I've read-of for years, but have never used.

Thanks, Kyle for the feedback. Which do you expect would last longer on a header by the collector?

I used the POR-15 3 or 4 years ago in my wife's vmax tank. You won't be disappointed with it.

Which XJ do you have? I used to have an XJ750R. Boy, I really miss that bike! Wish that I would have kept it when I bought the max.

Good news about the POR-15, thanks.

I have a '85 XJ700X 5-Valve....felt the same way as you when I sold it in '89 or '90, wish I had kept it it, but I got it back last week....16K on the clock, great shape! Got lucky!

Had a little fun with it in this thread....also some pics there.

My Vmax spend her whole life parked on beach property if a local lake, amongst other things the tank rusted out and caused a dozen other problems.

Used POR-15 3 years ago and have no regrets.

But can't attest to how it will hold up to a header.
