Safe to use Loctite...

in an oil system???

I have an 86 and am putting on the oil filter adapter. Just want to make sure it is ok to loctite it in.

I heard that locktite on nips is ok, its the RTV on nips that's frowned upon.

I would use blue, not red loctite. Don't want to pull the threads out of the block if you ever have to take it apart.

I would use blue on the threads, just dont use a lock washer and loctite makes ya look like an amatuer LOL..

NEVER USE RED LOCTITE ON ALUMINUM.
