My wife has training for work all next week and I decided to go out with her for a couple of days. Anybody in the bay area? I'll be all by my lonesome on Tuesday so will be walking to north beach, Chinatown and probably will visit a few breweries.

Esquire just named Zeitgeist one ofthe best bars in America, v. mcy-centric. Lots of pics & hardware bike racing related. Prices not in-line w/trendy, "of-the-moment" bars. Your $ will go farther. Last time I was there they still had rooms upstairs for rent if you drank too-much.

Was in Vegas, so I didn't see this post until tonite. I got back on the 5th and had I seen this I'd have ridden over for a visit. Maybe next time. Rand.

I did the same thing in San Diego, Anahaiem & L.A. a couple of years ago, couldn't find anybody to hang out with and just ended up hitting all the cycle shops that had the exotics I never get to see........better than sitting in the hotel anyway...

Are you already there and back, Markie? Was there in '84. Had to go to a school at Camp Parks, Oakland Bay. Hung around with a couple guys from an Oregon Redeye unit. Had a blast. There's a WW II sub on the pier. The warf is cool. Small inside. Nothing like in the movies. China town was kinda cool. Still have a cassette of 'Eye Of The Tiger' in Chinese. Watch who comes in and out of bars before entering, guys and gals vs just guys. Always, look/ appear 'straight', or momma might get jealous. And I wouldn't linger on any bridges.

Mark, yeah got back several days ago. I had a blast. I had a whole day to myself so got lots done. Probably walked close to 6 miles that day. I toured that WWII sub...very small inside.

Good you made it back ok. Guess I need to get on n read more often. Been busy. Gonna take off next Thurs n start for TX n see if I can cap a pigger or two. Gonna ride if the weather's decent. Got a 100+ lb rucksack packed. Took off the back rest n left the rack. Yeah, that sub is very small, for sure. Makes ya wonder how they kept from going nuts of beating each other half to death. They must of used a very wide angled lens when filming.

I toured that sevral years ago too.:punk:

REALLY small!

Thought the diesel electric concept was pretty neat.

It also seemed too still stink, can't imagine what they smelled like when on duty and packed with sweaty "Seamen":rofl_200:

Guess that's why they called 'em "Pig Boats"
