I have been doing some tire research and came across some contradicting information. Is the Shinko T230 a radial or bias tire? Also what would be the best front size to go with if I put the 170/80-15 on the rear...110? 120? 130? Thanks.

It's a "V" rated bias-ply. NOt sure on your 2nd question. I had a 110 bias ply on my old bike but a 120 radial tire on my newer one and didn't notice much of a difference. 110 is stock width and never had an issue with that.

i wouldn't go 130, but a 120 has more rubber, more rotating mass, more possibility for it to be untrue and hence, ib elieve, more likliness to introduce a wobble. thats just my 2 cents tho. i still stayed with the 120 tho.

I have the shinkos installed with the 170 rear and 120 front. I went with using the balancing beads in both front and rear tires. No wobble what so ever and love how these Shinkos grip the road in the rain!

I've had the shinkos on my 96 for about 2500 miles now. I went with the stock sizes. At times the front tire seems a little "squirrely" to me. No wobbles or shakes on my bike at any speeds but I'm just not crazy about the front tire. The rear is quite grippy. YMMV.

+1 on the dyna beads. Just put 200 miles on new Shinko's. My second set. Stayed with the 110 front though. No complaints

Sorry, yes dyno beads....name slipped my mind, but I was tired of them ugly weights that stick out like a sore thumb even if they were black! Love my shinkos and the 120 rides just fine in my setup.
