Got through the shotgun cleaning today Lvlhead's Vmax - The Shotgun; on the new-to-me bike that has sat since 2019.
Here's what the gas looked like in the carbs.
Lots of sediment, and note the color. Looks like it belongs in the pickle jar I was using.
The 2 idle mixture screws (pilot jets?) on the right side gave me some trouble. I had to use WD40 to get them to free up. One had the head well worn before I got to it.
They all looked like the picture on the right. None had the washer nor o-ring when they came out, so I had to fish them out of the hole, or what was left of them.
One has something that seemed like wax paper gumming up the port.
I've ordered 4 new ones.
I assume the order of assembly is washer, then o-ring, then spring? That's the way they seemed to be in there
