Wife & I were seeing little shadows and movements out on our deck this evening and after lengthy surveillance we discovered 3 or 4 flying squirrels racing in, eating bits of birdfood and disappearing back into the shadows. Neat little animals, big black eyes, very cute. They move like lightning!!
I saw one years ago when I was a kid but never saw any more and figured they just didn't exist any more.
Jeez! First the huge pecker, now these things!! It's like living on the edge of Jurassic Park. :hmmm:

they are rather cute, but really nothing more than tree-rats.

you would not believe the damage they can do - I've seen houses burnt down by the lil' fukers chewing thru the electrics!!!

I thought they were cute til i had one get into my bedroom while i was sleeping. Kept jumping up and flipping the light on to see what was in the room with my wife and i. All heck broke loose when it landed on the bed next to my face! It did'nt do any damage to the house but I SURE DID!

While I worked in Wrangell, a good friend, his wife and I would go camping to get away from the police station and the motor pool to get a chance to get some fishing and beer tasting done.:th_wine::th_drink:

We had these flying squirrels that seemed like they were dive bombing our campsite. So I payed one of em off with Doritos, and low and behold he stopped. I dunno if it was the same critter or not but by the end of summer the squirrel was pretty tame.

The second picture is from a squirrel that would come in the yard. this one found his way into my house and messed up a bunch of insulation building a nest inside. So his mortality was reduced.:th_biggun: :Dead:

Shit we have hundreds of squirrels here, gray, red, black, monks..........all kinds of them and never once had one in the house. Course, up here, all the nuts are outside on the trees...............................:rofl_200:

we have 4 of them come to my bird feeders every night.
Little buggers can eat a lot of seed in one sitting.

Drives my dog nuts running up and down the tree at lightening speeds...

Bill if you have the bird feeders that are on 6+ ft posts follow this idea for hours of entertainment...

Apply vaseline to the post up to 5 ft and watch em try and climb it,.. its hilarous! Hours of entertainent and then let the dog loose on em!

Dont jinx yourself Danny if you havent already. They get into attics of homes for heat and to store food in the hard winters... While in there they chew cables, electric lines etc. My co worker spent over 4000.00 last summer replacing the wood trip around his house due to little teeth marks.. Aww they are so cute.. come here hunny look at them awwww

KA F'ing Boom!

But if you want to keep 'em away, smear unscented Ben-Gay on the post.
After their little nuts burn like hell once or twice, they won't come back.

THAT'S FUNNY!! KA F'ing Boom!!!

I know they can cause all kinds of problems, I've dealt with them before. I was surprised to see flying squirrels tho, figured they had just disappeared.

If there's any sign of an invasion........well............KA F'ing Boom!! End of story!! Course a guy wants to have his combat skills right up there, those lil' shits are almost faster than the eye!! Heidimax will prolly balk but I think the answer just might be a few properly placed claymores.........yeah, that'll do it!! :clapping:
