Trucks in the body shop,Insurance offered me a rental,Said bring it back with the same amount of gas And the general bs.Well i smoke,Took it back and was charged a 100 bucks. The lady said she smelled smoke in the car and it would have to be detailed !No ashes no nothing.I know quit smoking.Should have listened better.Just pisses me off. It's something i enjoy.I don't harm a soul.Wife works in the local hospital on the womens unit,70% of patients are dying from cancer .Sad thing there all health nut's,Never smoked a day in there life.Gettin off track,First time ive ever paid that much for a smoke.******* rental. You smoke better hide not allowed anywhere.

Never again only reason i got it was for the lil grandchildren,Pick up from school.I;ll take the wife to work and take the insurance money.Never again.Yea danny way over.

Terry, I still smoke too. Been making my own with Light Pipe Tobacco for years. I had a Medical Evaluation on Wednesday. Dr. says my lungs are the least of his concerns but I actually had a good report. I don't have to go back for 6 months.
As far as your fine for smoking in the car. IT SUCKS....

I've passed up on buying more than one used car in the past due to it having been polluted with a previous owners' smoke. Test drove a new demo car just this month and said if I buy, it'd have to be one just like it because someone had already been smoking inside and I didn't want the hassle of trying to get it to clean up. It can be a PITA to get that odor out.

Point of views is something else:
one person says
It can be a PITA to get that odor out.
Another person might say, Aroma.. :)

+ 1 and I have checked into supposed to be non smoking hotel rooms that smelled like smoke & walked right back to the front & told them I want a different one.

Yea guess it offends some Im over it,My x wife hates it,Guess im a misfit.Ive never made anyone feel unwelcome. In the 70s nobody cared,As time passed things changed.Im who i am.One of the few things i enjoy. When i get a hotel i ask for a smoking room,So far not a problem.Flew to florida,Went to the theme parks.Found a smoking area, looked like the place was on fire. Not trying to ruin it for anyone else,But damn dont i deserve my right too.Make it fair. It's not at all,10 to 20% smoke.Make it fair.Ever saw ron white,He smokes and drinks on stage.Tell him to quit.Wouldn't be no problem in car's or motels,If the companys that own them would ask,DO YOU SMOKE.what 10 rooms outta 50.Same with cars.No let's go all to hell and throw a fit like the woman did at enterprise.Sick of that.Fair is fair.A souliution is easy.Damn meet me halfway.

Im also one of those damn quiters, April 1st 1999. i can smell the person in front of me light up when im on my bike, very strange im that sensitive to the smell. BTW, when I was a teenager I had a job at the local Chevy dealership detailing cars that were traded in. Back then we used simple drier sheets with a scent to it to eliminate smoke smell in a used car. If there were no obvious signs of holes or ash then we would replace the ashtray put about 5 drier sheets under the seats in in a few days, no smoke smell and the dealer would advertise the car as a non smoker. unscrupulous I know but noone ever challenged it due to smelling smoke.

Get some charcoal briquettes and spread a few of them on a sheet of newspaper over the floor. Close the car up overnight, and in the morning the smell should be gone.

Thanx for the tips, I'm selling my Ram SS/T. Never used the ash tray in the truck. I use one that sits in the drink holder and always have the window down to blow the smoke out but I imagine the truck would stink to a non smoker.:ummm: I'll get my Grandson to test it. He's super sensitive to smoke.:clapping:
