How critical are some of the dimensions on these solid motor mounts? I know a few of them are not, but I'm thinking mainly of the 1.100" diameter that fits in the bore in the engine. Does this need to be a friction fit or can it be a few thousandths loose? I'm not a real expert on a machinist lathe and want to make some of these for some practice, and I keep getting this dimension between .005 and .015 too small. Are these still usable?

I've made mine with 0,01-0,03mm to large and wack them with hammer but they was made from poliamide. With aluminium it should be 0,02-0,05 to small.

IMHO they should be pressed hard. Typicaly same instal parameters like ball bearings so 0,02-0,05mm. If they have more then 0,05mm radial play they dont do what they supouse to do. Its should be very tight and keeps the whole construction (engine/frame) if they will have to much play then whole operation making not any sense, same with OEM rubbers happen.

Interference fit it is, then. And polyamide is what I'm using. I just need to get better on my lathe and get the dimensions more accurate.

I made the front four and installed them today. But the rear pair, I'm going to wait until later this year when I do a transmission project I want to do which will require pulling the engine. I'll do the rear ones then.

Rear ones are real hell to install when engine is in the frame.
Made one set yesterday for a friend:

Here are two of them I made.
