hello all, new to this, just wanted to show you a different way i came up with on my max for a front foot rest.Cut the end of the front engine gaurd off in a band-saw, turned down some alluminum, and press fit these into the holes.I wanted some sort of foward"highway peg" but didnt want things hanging off. Works good for me, edges grip your feet nice. let me know what you guys think,

george

it looks nice and the functionality is there i'd just worry about scraping them. i put fold up pegs on my engine guards on the old vmax and i almost dumped the bike scraping them. they stuck out about a 1/2" further than those do.

Looks good, nice mod so you have something for your feet on long trips. I took mine off and sometimes miss them. I'm planning a bunch of long trips this summer so I may look for a solution that I can take on and off in between the long trips.

LOL never really had her that low !

i scrape my pegs a lot so my footrests had to be different (pic attached)

now i like those ! gonna have to make a set !

if i could i would have, they're pretty nice. another member's vmax came with them and i asked to buy them. they were pretty rough looking but a trip to the powdercoater took care of that!

Oh No, CopRunner started a Spike Trend. Ouch........ Them could really hurt.
Or maybe CopRunner saw these....

All the above are really Cool Inovations....

Anybody know offhand what the diameter of the front frame downtubes are?

Snowing pretty hard right now Brian but I can get that dimension for you in the morning if that isn't too late.

Where on the downtube do you want the measurement taken? :confused2:
That would be great Danny! The tour pegs I'm thinking about would mount just above front top motor mounts. I'm guessing that it's a little better than 1" but not really sure.
I appreciate it greatly Brother D!:worthy:

Those are nice looking and something we debated (not that exact style) but they will catch if you get very aggressive. About 1/2" more is about as far as I would go.

Agh.....a man'd have to be a complete ***** not to take a nice evening stroll for a MI buddy....right? :punk:

I make that front downtube at 1.270" give or take a few thou....that's just behind the bottom corners of the radiator.....altho, there isn't much, if any, difference farther down the tube.

Hope this helps ya Brother! :worthy:

Now I gotta go to bed.....plum tuckered from crawling over those drifts, fighting that wind, and the wolves.....man the wolves came out of nowhere....???
