No sympathy for thief's. Especially, for bike thief's. My father told me at a young age"if it isn't yours don't even touch it" Some things stick with you.
I get lax and have even left the key in mine before. Lately I've been locking it up in it's trailer, and taking the key inside. Plus my fence is locked. The tung on the trailer should be too. That all won't stop a determined thief, but he'll make lots of noise and I'm a light sleeper. My area gets a bit crazy in the summer.

Piece of **** got what he deserved... id LOVE to see someone try that crap with me... i dont own a gun but i ALWAYS carry a knife and im very accurate when i throw it.

Yes, by all means, use two locks on the trailer tongue. One on the flip-up latch, and one fitting the ball cavity. Then put a hardened chain thru a wheel and around the axle w/a good disc lock.

I had a great little flatbed trailer w/an aluminum diamondplate bed and a wheel chock, easy to tow, it was stolen one night. The replacement has the above.

Over the years I have been victimized by thieves. Make it as hard as possible for them to be successful. If you are fortunate enough to catch one and he's prosecuted, get a judgment against them and because the judgment will expire with time, be sure to keep it current. It will ruin their credit, and they will never be able to get a car loan, or borrow $ for college for themselves or an offspring, or get a mortgage until it's satisfied.
