Steering head spanner wrench?

Does anyone here still sell these? Dingy hasn't been around in awhile.

If not, which 3rd party tool is the one to get?

I ordered this one back in Nov. Shows not available now. It wasn't cheap. Like $40. I found it by searching the tool # from the service manual.

I use this on various bikes. Cost me around $30, if I recall correctly.

There are rear shock adjuster tools in different sizes, you may find one at a swap meet that will fit.

That’s what I use. Not a ton of torque needed here.

Yes. According to the Clymer manual you seat the bearings by first torquing to 38 ft.-lb. Then loosen completely and re-tighten only to 26.5IN.-LB. I suspect a lot of the ham-fisted, overtorqued steering head bearings pics I see are attempts to cure some sort of wobble, etc. All that really does is destroy the bearings.

I took the advise from sean morley 's video on adjusting the steering head bearings . Over 1K miles and no problems. Thanks Sean. for everything.
