Has this ever happened to anyone ? I changed the oil and filter and when I started the bike to check for leaks, low and behold there was a drip. I then tighten it a little and checked and did it again, but I guess I over did it and a small piece of the casting broke off. It was about half an inch and now a small piece of the o-ring is now exposed. Damm, I hate when **** like this happens. The part that broke seems to be at the tab area, what the fuc are these tabs for ? Are they used for location purposes ? It doesn't leak at all but now I don't trust it. I'd hate to have the little ring fail and piss out oil all over the place. - especially while riding.
I fixed with JB weld but it just did it again.

I'll take a shot and ask if anyone has one for sale, Maybe you went with a spin on and have the old one kick'n around ? I might go with the spin on adapter and bent crossbar but it just depends how the cost work out.

I should have replaced the ring but it didn't think it was that bad. Thats what happens sometimes when your too cheap for your own good.

I should have a few of them on hand. I can't believe they are over $120 list!!!!

Holler at me directly and we will see if we can work out a price. [email protected]

Check your mail Sean.

To anyone on this forum, who does they're own maintenance - don't drop this part or over tighten. It says in the manual to torque at 14ft.lbs. If it leaks - change or re check your o-ring. I just got off the phone to the local dealer here. $101 for the cap and $19 for the bolt/washer/spring and o-ring.

It can be an expensive mistake.
