New owner of a 98 vmax, just starting to ride it. It is all stock. When I am cruising down the highway, what can I expect the RPMs to be at the following speeds in 5th gear?

at 60 mph
at 70 mph
at 80 mph
at 90 mph

Was cruising on OK Highway 77 yesterday at 65 mph and seems the RPMs were at around 4000.

Thanks for the info!

4000 at 65 seems about right for a stock geared bike.

Mine with a Venture diff runs around 4400@75mph, which will be around 4800 for you.

6000RPM/v-boost for me is roughly 100mph. It's about 90 on a stock bike.

If you're wondering, yes, you can reach redline in fifth gear. It's about 145mph.

With a Venture drive I've gotten a tad north of 140, but the motor runs out of beans around 8800.

Happy RPMs are in line. Worried 4000 was too high for 65 in 5th gear. But it isn't.

My bikes track, 3,000 is 45ish, 4,000 RPM is 60ish 5,000 is 75ish. The 94 runs out at around 140, the 89 is still at full on. I've never looked down above 140 on it..
