I guess this is just a quick review of Techflex F6. I had a bit of rat nest under my seat and cowl so I took a day and cleaned it up by re-routing wires and cutting them to the appropriate lengths, etc. Anyway, here is the product I used:

And here is the website: http://www.techflex.com/prod_F6N.asp

They have a lot of different neat loom type products but I zeroed in on this split loom because of it flexibility, ease of install and clean look. I bought 3 different sizes: 1/8", 1/4" and 1/2". After installing it, I used either heat shrink or tape to secure the ends just for good measure.

Anyway, not real great pictures but here is where I started:

And here it is a little more tidy:

just noticed your vent tubes run below the carbs, is that for the shot, should route them back up and just tie wrap them to the from frame under the gauges. i take it you have a stg 7 set up

Hmmm.... not sure what you are talking about here. Yeah I have the stage 7 with individual filters. The vents hit a puke tank between the filters. Here is what it looks like... but I may be missing your point entirely:

I think that Tugla is referring to the float chamber breather's that are normally screwed to the side of the air box.

However, I would think that the important consideration would be that they are in still air at atmospheric pressure rather than the location or orientation of the end of the hose?

yup thats what i was talking about, float chamber vent tubes, the four off the carbs, just always thought they had to be up above the carbs, maybe they dont. atmospheric pressure in the carb bowls. if she runs good then :punk:

Aw, thanks for clearing that up! Yeah, I hadn't really considered that... what are the chances that gas spills out of the vent? Would it happen with a stuck float? Either way it sounds like a good idea to get them up to an area more like the original. Sharp eye Tugla, thanks for the heads up!

Well, as it turns out, I went for a weekend away on the bike and found the answer to my own questions above. After riding for about an hour or so I lost a cylinder and it wouldn't come back. The wife said she thought she smelled gas, but I assured her that she couldn't smell gas from our bike at 65mph... wrong! I pulled up to a stoplight and looked down at the right side of the bike and there was a stream of gas spilling down over the engine and onto my leg. I shut it down real quick, complemented my wife on her smeller, and got off the road. Thanks to Tugla and MaxMidnight I had just re-routed my carb vent tubes up to frame rails as they suggested. If I hadn't done that it would have just been venting down by the swingarm and I may not have seen it. I popped off the right scoop, identified the problem carb, drained its float bowl, tapped it with the screwdriver and all was good in the world. Classic stuck carb float. Thanks guys for the suggestions!

glad you had your wife's sharp nose around. good to hear it was a easy fix and no flames involved :punk:
