I hope and pray that no one from this forum purchased the 2009 Vmax from "Total resource auctions" In Denver today VIA the internet If you did let me know I will give you the list of parts that you will need to put it back together. I will keep your idenity between you and me , because I would be embarrased! well it will be between 4-6K to repair it if you do the work yourself and who in their right mind would pay 9K (includes buyers fees) for a wrecked 2009 that has no keys and you are unsure if it even runs when the clutch cover has road rash all the way into maybe the engine case and oil is running out! I will tell you first hand that if you want to purchase anything Salvage go and look at it first, not all pictures tell a thousand words.

I take it you know something about this bike. I used to haul repo's and lease turn in's to the different auctions in Tn, Ky, Oh, and In. The worst of the worst where the ones that went to Total Resourse. I seen many a good vehicles go to auction but more times than not they where fair to poor. The car dealerships would get the better one's anyway. The total Resourse auctions where for the fleet trucks and equipment mainly and the vehicles that did not sell at the main auctions.

Yeah I was there today, did alot of research on parts before I went. I was off on several parts and after recalculating the salvage title bike value loss parts etc. the bike really should of not sold for anymore than $2,500 if you were building it. Infact I really don't think a salvage guy bought it, because there was a salvage yard owner from Denver right next to me. When the bids all came from the internet and started at $6,100 he just rolled his eyes . So I think someone thinks they are goig to build it.

Wow just off photo's they ran the bid up to 6100, that is crazy. I would have rolled my eye's too. Fleabay has a 2010 on there for 13,100.00 right now. That is just crazy for a damaged one. I know I drool over gen ll's but they will have drop down in price before I will ever get my hands on one.

Well if you find one in that shape for $2500.....let me know I'll pay you double!

The dealer cost for an engine is $9000, that bike had a low mileage 2010 motor on it. It also had an x-pipe that goes for $500 used, a Corbin seat..$350, the ECU is worth $450, wide rear wheel....$500.

I would have paid $5500 and been very happy.....keep the motor and sell everything else, a great deal if you are looking for an engine.

That being said whoever bought it overpaid for sure at $8400. Can't be rebuilt for a profit and not enough good parts to to get your money back parting it out.

I have a buddy with a dealership in Arkansas that has the 2008 Gen II #444 sitting on his show room floor for 13K I wouldnt even consider a salvage bike that is close to OTD price for a good solid machine.

That's a 2009. Production dates for each model year typically starts around August (though on a rare occassion in July) and stops in June.
